Does your Cabrillo Mac have McAfee VirusScan installed?
On the finder toolbar, Click Go, click Applications, and find the VirusScan icon. If VirusScan is not in the Applications list, then your computer does not have McAfee VirusScan protection installed. The VirusScan logo looks like the image on the right. Is your copy of McAfee VirusScan current?- On the finder toolbar, Select
Go , Applications , and then double-clickVirusScan . - On the Mac toolbar, click
VirusScan , click About VirusScan . In the About VirusScan window, it should say McAfee VirusScan for Mac, version 8.6.1 .- If the version number is lower than 8.6.1, your copy of VirusScan is not current.
- In the VirusScan program window, click eUpdate.
- Read the line that gives the Engine version, DAT version, and DAT date.
- If the DAT is more than seven days old, your copy of VirusScan is not current.
How to make McAfee VirusScan current On the finder toolbar, Select Go , Applications , and then double-click VirusScan .- Click eUpdate next to Scan & Clean.
NOTE: The dialog displays the last time VirusScan was updated. - Click Start to begin the VirusScan update.
How to make McAfee VirusScan automatically update- On the finder toolbar, Select
Go , Applications , and then double-click VirusScan . - Click Scheduler to open the Schedule Editor dialog.
- Click New eUpdate Task inside the Schedule Editor dialog.
- Enter a name inside the Task Name field.
- Click Set and then select a start date and start time for your updates in the pop-up that appears.
- Click OK to close the pop-up, and select Daily from the Recurrence pull-down menu.
- Click OK to close the task dialog, and then click the remaining close buttons to exit VirusScan.
