Does your Cabrillo PC have McAfee VirusScan installed?

Look for a McAfee icon in the bottom right corner of your PC screen near the clock. The McAfee icon looks like the

image on the right. If you do not see the McAfee icon, then your PC does not have McAfee VirusScan protection installed.

Is your copy of McAfee VirusScan current?

  1. put your cursor on the McAfee icon in the bottom right corner of your PC screen.
  2. right-click (single click the right-side button on your mouse).
  3. select About VirusScan Enterprise from the pop-up menu (left-click).
  4. find the line that reads DAT Created On: and check the date.
  5. if the date is more than two days old, your copy of VirusScan is not current.

Does Cabrillo's McAfee server manage your VirusScan?

Using Cabrillo's McAfee server ensures that your VirusScan program is current and can protect your PC. To check whether Cabrillo's McAfee server manages your PC's copy of VirusScan:

  1. put your cursor on the McAfee icon in the bottom right corner of your PC screen.
  2. right-click (single click the right-side button on your mouse).
  3. select VirusScan Console from the pop-up menu (left-click).
  4. In the VirusScan Console, look in the left column for lines that begin with  (managed).
NOTE: you may have to scroll inside the window to see all the lines.

If you do not see any lines that begin with (managed), then Cabrillo's McAfee server does not manage your McAfee VirusScan protection.
